Lord Gareth de Montforte is known as an irresponsible rake with a heart of gold. When he thwarts a stagecoach robbery, he is stunned to discover that the beautiful young woman he has heroically rescued, Juliet Paige, is his deceased brother’s fiancee, accompanied by her infant daughter. Despite his family’s refusal to acknowledge Juliet, Gareth is determined to do right by the courageous woman who crossed an ocean to give her baby the name she rightfully deserves.
As a practical American woman, Juliet is wary of marrying this black sheep aristocrat, yet she is hopelessly charmed by the dashing devil. Never has she met anyone who embraces life so thoroughly, who makes her laugh, who loves her so well. And, even when it seems the odds are against them, Juliet has absolute faith that Gareth will go beyond the call of duty to give her and her daughter a home — and a love that will last a lifetime.
After finding the first of this series – The Wild One – free on Amazon, and to my amazement I enjoyed it thoroughly, so much so that I had to buy the rest of these series. Danelle Harmon is an exceptional writer. I love how she creates her men, she writes them with such great detail and make them highly humorous.
Who knew a dashing Englishmen labeled The Wild One would be utterly charming? Yes at times the sweet Gareth was a bit too cocky and undermining but I think that is what makes him so likable to me. I loved how he always was looking for fun or mischief and beaming with dimpled smile that Juliet feel for — no wonder she chose him, I would too. There were so many favorite scenes involving Gareth but the ones that stuck out the most to me were – how he acted during his gun shot ordeal, lying and bleeding to death wasn’t putting a stopper on ‘ol Gareth’s charming ways, when he went to find Juliet to stop her from leaving which results in him climbing a tree to talk to her through her hotel window, and my most favorite scene was when he told her she needed to laugh more which resulted in him tickling her to death – oh that was such a lovely funny moment!
This would have to be one of the most best free reads that I have ever found on Amazon. If it is still free, check it out along with the other brothers stories. Heck even if it isn’t, its worth the purchase if you like your literary men mischievous, charming, and humorous.
