I’m Kimberly, your average mid to late 20 something year old whom has to what others would assume is a book addiction problem, but hey to me that’s a good kind of addiction, right? I currently have 150+ physical books in my collection an it still continues to grow each month as new ones are released. Told ya, I have an addiction. *wink wink* I used to not always be a book worm though, but now as I am older, you will probably catch me about 95% of the time curled up with my fluffy pillow on my corner of the couch reading a good juicy book with a delectable hero whom will make you swoon like there is no tomorrow.
I am a huge lover of history – even going as far as watching historical documentaries on tv an indulging in the latest and greatest historical movies / tv shows. Wither its Medieval, Renaissance, Georgian, Victorian, or Edwardian time period – I’m all in for it. But my utmost favorite eras would be during the Revolutionary, Regency, Civil War, and mid to late 1800’s with your ‘ol renegade cowboys, gunslingers, and desperadoes littering the west.
I love history and the times long ago so much, that I will go as far as to say that I feel like I was born in the wrong era, that I should of lived a lifetime ago in another time. That is why I love to take a nose dive into well written novels about a time long forgotten. I secretly wish I could wear lavish beautiful ball gowns with feminine gloves and be swirled around the dance room by a dashing man dressed equally as elegant as I in knee high boots. To be wooed and courted by a chivalrous gentleman (or perhaps a devilish rogue) with old fashion manners. And to live in a beautiful an elegant plantation. Oh how lovely and charming that would be!
As for my taste in history romance novels, anything will do (except anything older than medieval) as long as the synopsis is entertaining, the characters are engaging / humorous, and most of all, the books I read must have BANTER. I love me a good banter between a man an a woman. Within the last couple of years, I have been trying to broaden my tastes of books and journeying in to the contemporary territory, but I am very selective on whom I read in this genre as not all contemporary books will do it for me.
Aside from reading and watching historical’s, I also like to dabble in gardening, web designing, and bettering my skills as a human an animal portrait artist.
